Answer AI Agent questions

When your AI Agent uses the Ask User Questions tool, a questions card appears in the conversation and the AI Agent waits for your answer. This guide shows you what you'll see and how to answer.

The questions card

The card walks you through questions one at a time, wizard-style. At the top you'll see a counter like Question 1 of 3 so you know how many are left.

Each question is one of two shapes:

Single choice. A list of options where you pick exactly one.

Multi-choice. A list of options where you tick zero, one, or many.

Some questions include an Other option that reveals a free-text field so you can type your own answer when none of the options fit.

When you've answered the last question, click Submit.

Answer single-choice questions

  1. Read the question and the options.
  2. Click the option you want (radio button).
  3. Click Next to move on, or Submit if it's the last question.

Answer multi-choice questions

  1. Read the question and the options.
  2. Tick every option that applies. Ticking zero is valid — it signals "none of these".
  3. Click Next or Submit.

Use the "Other" option

If none of the offered options match, pick Other (when present). A text field appears. Type your answer, then Next / Submit.

After you submit

  • Your AI Agent receives your answers and resumes the conversation.
  • The questions card in the chat shows your answers inline.
  • You cannot edit answers after submitting. If you realised you picked wrong, ask your AI Agent to redo the step — it will usually call the tool again and ask you fresh.

Multiple questions cards at once

Just like approvals, more than one questions card can be open at the same time. Resolve them in any order.

From the Dashboard

Questions cards also show up in the Pending Approvals view on the Dashboard, so you can answer them without digging for the right conversation.

FAQ

Can I skip a question? Not individually — the wizard advances only once the current question has an answer. Tick Other with an empty or explicit "N/A" text if the question genuinely doesn't apply. If you want to abandon the whole interaction, dismiss the underlying task from the Dashboard.

Does the card time out? No. It waits indefinitely. See how tool approval works for the mental model behind parked tasks.

Can I see the question again after submitting? Yes. The card stays in the conversation showing the questions and your answers, so you can review what you said.
