Associate Contact to Company
The Associate Contact to Company tool allows your AI Assistant to create a connection between a contact and a company in your HubSpot CRM. This feature is incredibly useful for keeping your CRM organized and ensuring that contacts are properly linked to their respective companies.

b) Contact Search Property Type
- Choose either "Id" or "Email"
- This determines how the tool will identify the contact in HubSpot
-
Save your configuration and run a test to ensure the tool is working correctly.
How It Works
When you ask the AI Assistant to associate a contact with a company, it will:
- Search for the specified company in HubSpot using either the company's unique ID or domain name.
- Search for the specified contact in HubSpot using either the contact's unique ID or email address.
- If both the company and contact are found, it will create an association between them in HubSpot.
Using the Tool
You don't need to remember complex commands or parameters. Simply ask the AI Assistant to associate a contact with a company using the information you have available. The AI will figure out the rest!
Examples of How to Use It
- Using Email and Domain: You: "Please associate the contact john@example.com with the company at examplecorp.com" AI Assistant: "Certainly! I'll use the email 'john@example.com' to find the contact and the domain 'examplecorp.com' to find the company, then associate them in HubSpot."
- Using IDs: You: "Can you link contact ID 12345 to company ID 67890 in our CRM?" AI Assistant: "Of course! I'll use the contact ID 12345 and company ID 67890 to find the records in HubSpot and create the association."
- Mixed Identifiers: You: "Associate sarah@startup.com with company ID 54321" AI Assistant: "No problem! I'll locate the contact using the email 'sarah@startup.com' and find the company with ID 54321, then link them in HubSpot."
Best Practices
- Use Unique Identifiers: Whenever possible, use email addresses for contacts and domain names for companies. These are usually unique and reduce the chance of errors.
- Verify Information: Before asking the AI to make an association, double-check that you have the correct email or domain for the contact and company.
- Regular Maintenance: Periodically review your CRM to ensure contacts are associated with the correct companies. You can ask the AI Assistant to help you audit these connections.
Troubleshooting
If the association isn't created successfully, it could be due to:
- The contact or company not existing in your HubSpot CRM
- Incorrect ID, email, or domain information provided
- Permissions issues in your HubSpot account
In these cases, the AI Assistant will let you know what went wrong and may ask for additional information or suggest next steps.
Remember, keeping your contacts properly associated with companies helps maintain a clean, efficient CRM. This tool makes that process easy and automatic. Don't hesitate to use it whenever you learn about a connection between a contact and a company!
